In New York  Barneys is an institution, the gold standard for designer department stores both in the selection of the best of the latest trends and in the creative displays.  You might be a trifle disappointed in the Tokyo version.  It is smaller and just doesn’t project the same cachet as in NY.  The brands are all there – Chloe, Balenciaga, Catherine Malandrino, D&G, Diane Von Furstenberg, Stella McCartney with a strong showing of Japanese labels of course like Comme des Garcons, Sacai, Green, G.V.G.V, Junko Shimada and Ritsuko Shirahama.  Elegant menswear selection from Etro, Balenciaga, Marco Tagliaferri, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Brunello Cuccinelli and Comme des Garcons.

There are two Barneys locations in Tokyo – in the Ginza district and in Shinjuku.  We prefer the one n the more exclusive area of Ginza.
