Rei Kawakubo extends the concept she started in London to Tokyo.  The Tokyo version in the Ayoyama district though is much smaller and lacks the vibrancy created by the large number of “stalls” in the London original.  Still it’s a fun place to shop not just because of the variety of objects (shoes, books, art, clothes, vintage items, etc.) but also because of the architecture and interior design highlights like the spiky chandelier and the Kahori mural.  Handpicked pieces from the Comme Des Garcons lines form the core of the selection with the temporary stalls within the store including Stephen Jones millinery, Emma Hawkins antiques and elements from the Topshop Unique line.
