Address: 2-29-1 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo (Shibuya metro station)
Shibuya 109 is the epi-center of the Japanese teenager universe – or so it seems. Hordes of hip youth swirl through Shibuya 109 and the neighboring Shibuya zone of fashion shops, restaurants, and bars. Shibuya 109, a ten storey tower just to the west of the busy Shibuya JR station, hosts over 100 stores targeting the 15-25 year old female and often staffed by shop clerks wearing and excellently advertising their own product! As you wander around, you may literally see the genesis of the next new and slightly odd trend in Japanese street style! Furs to jeans, shoes to lingerie, accessories, knick-knacks, bags and of course hats are all on offer. Several brands such as B-Kei and Samantha Thavasa have been launched out of these stores over the past ten years, making it a “must” for anyone who truly wants to sample the Tokyo fashion experience. The vibe is one of taking fashion to the edge and having fun while doing it.
PS. See below the location map in English. Tokyo maps provided by Google and showed at the "Location Map" section are in Japanese.
