Alaia is renowned for his ability to design and craft clothes that fit like a second skin, his signature style being dark tight dresses, skirts, jackets that emphasized feminine curves. 

While he has not really had a fashion show in the past decade, Alaia is now part of the Prada group and he keeps creating for both his pret-a-porter line and for certain private clients.
