Castañer has converted the humble peasant shoe into a high fashion item.  This Spanish company which has been producing espadrilles since the 18^th century has its own shops across the world and also produces for the likes of Armani, Hermès and Dior.  Anya Hindmarch is one of the latest to sign up Castañer to produce an espadrille collection along the lines of her trademark photos on silk bags.  In the store in Paris you will find a variety of shoes made from canvas, rope and jute to fit every style.  The products are from factories in Spain and the quality is noticeable.
