Ten years after Colette first opened on Rue St Honore in Paris 1st arrondissement, the store is as fresh and invigorating as ever. On the entrance level you are stimulated by art, music, literature and design invitingly laid out for you to browse through and of course buy from the collection of art books, music CDs, knick-knacks and cards!
Upstairs you are greeted by a forest of mannequins arrayed in the latest fashions from brands such as Lanvin, Prada and Miu Miu. Where Colette excels is in putting together elements from various brands to create a true “style look” with clothes, shoes and accessories. You can weave your way through the mannequins until you arrive at the one that is just you – and if you don’t find it the helpful assistants can help you create one. A true fashion boutique with a very fun atmosphere.
The clientele is diverse – from fashionistas searching for that special look to punk rockers attracted by the art and music.
And then there is an excellent café downstairs – so plan to shop both sides of lunch.
