Mendel is a fur boutique first and foremost – opulent, luxurious and expensive.  Gilles Mendel, the current designer, has brought fur into the modern age with creative designs for the couture furs.  He has also created a ready-to-wear line in evening gowns and luscious little party dresses.  Mendel shines in integrating clothing with touches of furs, demonstrating true craftsmanship and elegance.  Mendel is popular both with the Opera dowagers who come for the full length furs and with the celebrity set, notably La Dion who wears Mendel in her Las Vegas act.  Of course, watch out for occasional PETA demonstrations.
