Giorgio Armani is perhaps the fashion name most recognized by the general public today.  He has spawned a fashion empire where he is both the creative designer and CEO.  His brands range from Giorgio Armani (top of the line couture) through Armani Collezioni (glamorous ready to wear), Emporio Armani (elegant Italian inspired sportwear), and Armani Exchange (trendy but affordable),  to Armani Junior (capitalizing on the parents who are devotees!).  While the price points differ, the clothing is always and essentially intriguing and sexy!  Everyone feels that they look better and more desirable in an Armani.

Interestingly, Armani started out in the 70’s  with men’s wear before branching out into women’s wear.  You can see the blending of masculine and feminine elements in his clothes especially in jackets for both men and women.  Look closely and you will also see threads of different colours which taken as a whole appear as a shimmering basic colour.  The cut and tailoring of the clothes are precise and elegant and project a touch of  wealth and power.

The New York store is huge with four floors of wood and marble – a Roman temple to a modern fashion emperor!   In addition to the men’s wear and women’s wear (formal and casual) there are all the licensed products from eyewear to watches, and don’t forget the Armani cosmetic and fragrance line.
