Ungaro has been defined by the surgical like cut of his designs, bright colours, and craftsmanship – all coming together in creations that flatter the wearer.  Perhaps it’s the combination of his Italian heritage and French upbringing – Ungaro mixes classic French design with Italian flair for colors and florals to arrive at truly romantic (and often downright sexy) evening wear.  Having been at the helm since the mid sixties, Ungaro stepped down from the chief designer role in 2001.  The series of designers since then, Valli, Darre, and now Dundas, have strived but never really achieved the elegant brilliance of the original.   Menswear and accessories are also part of the offerings now.
