DKNY has been Donna Karan’s second line since 1988 and it stays true to her philosophy that a fashionable wardrobe could be constructed from seven elemental pieces.  These zen-like elements include blazers, classic sheath dresses, and of course black pants!  However, today’s consumer apparently is entranced with the more-is-merrier adage and so DKNY has expanded into casuals and denims, children’s wear and accessories, and even furniture.  Even if you aren’t into elegant clothes, the store is worth visiting for both the view of Fifth Avenue and the occasional exhibitions from Karan’s fellow artistes.
