Gabrielecorto Moltedo, the scion of Bottega Veneta’s founders, Laura and Vittorio Moltedo, launched his own line in 2004 and has already managed to carve out a niche in the rarefied world of luxury fashion accessories.
Moltedo acquired the family savoir-faire –he spent his school summer vacations in the Bottega Veneta factory- exquisite quality, craftsmanship and attention to details. But Corto Moltedo accessories are much more. Finding inspiration in art, another passion inherited from his parents, Moltedo’s style is truly contemporary, sophisticated with a masculine touch.
Contrast is another trademark of Moltedo’s creations. The mix of different textures, patent, suede, heavy leather grain, the use of distinct stitching, bold metallic accessories and bright colors, create a dramatic look. As Moltedo puts it “with my bright colors and contrasts, my girls have to dress around the bag they carry, and not use my bag as an accessory”.
Our favorite Moltedo bag –if you can afford it, as tags are pricey- is the versatile Priscillaable to take youin bold style from a business meeting to a cocktail party. With its recognizable shape, the Priscilla bag has become Moltedo’s signature piece and already enjoys similar status to Jacobs, Fendis or Vuittons handbags.

Giambattista Valli has taken the fashion world by storm.
Only 3 years ago in March 2005, the Roman designer presented his first solo collection. A graduate from London’s Saint Martin school, he started his fashion career as designer in Fendi and Ungaro where he became Art Director in 2001. His Ungaro’s haute couture experience pervades Valli’s collections which are in fact closer to couture than to ready-to-wear. Short and lighthearted cocktail party dresses are the main staple of Valli’s proposal and have conquered young A list socialites such as Eugenia Niarchos, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Margherita Missoni as well as Hollywood celebrities from Penelope Cruz to Cameron Diaz. Apart from his beautiful creations, Valli counts on a lesser known but equally effective weapon: Justo Artigas, the person who has been “placing” Giambattista Valli’s dresses among celebrities and the one who makes sure the front row at Valli’s fashion show is full of famous faces.
Artigas will also be responsible for Valli’s presence on red carpet at the Oscars. And given the number of Valli frocks we have seen on celebs these past months, we bet that at least a half dozen will be Valli’s.
Kick off the season in bold style with a soft leather jacket. From cropped and empire waist jackets to bombers and blazers, leather jackets come in a whole range of styles and they become a must have for the spring wardrobe. Invest on a classic colour like brown or black or go for the latest trend, metallic leather in silver or gold hues. are a must have this season. ....
Get The Look ...Pair a metallic leather jacket with a soft blouse –a couple of inches longer than the jacket of course- and skinny jeans to give it a rock-and-roll attitude. For a more feminine flair, wear it with a floral print dress and boots, a perfect look to transition into spring.
